Doris Akol has been fired by the President of the Republic of Uganda His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. She was the Commissioner-General of the Uganda Revenue Authority for five solid years and five months. In addition, Mr. John Musinguzi was appointed as the new Commissioner-General for the Uganda Revenue Authority.
Therefore Doris Akol wrote the following email to the rest of the staff following her sacking

His excellency has just appointed Mr. John Musinguzi as the new Commissioner-General with immediate effect. Let’s welcome Mr. John Musinguzi to the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) family. In addition and render his utmost support.
It has been an absolute honor and privilege to be your team leader for 5 years and five months. I thank you for loving me and supporting me and also you were very loyal to me.
May the good Lord bless you however the struggle to liberate our country continues. This was the message Commissioner-General Doris Akol wrote to the rest of the URA staff.
Mr. John Musinguzi has a Master’s degree in computing and Information systems. He graduated from the University of Greenwich. In addition, he has a bachelor’s degree in Science in Mathematics from Makerere University. In addition, he is the Senior Presidential Advisor on ICT and Investment.
Who is Doris Akol?
Doris Akol is a former Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). She is a lawyer and administrator by profession. She was born in 1970. In addition, she is a Ugandan Citizen. Akol went to Nakasero Primary school for her primary education. She then joined Mount Saint Mary’s College Namagunga for her O-level Education. In addition, Doris Akol joined Nabisunsa Girls secondary school for her A-level.
Following her graduation from the Law Development Centre in 1994, Akol spent one year at PricewaterhouseCoopers, at their Kampala offices. In 1995, she joined URA, as a Legal Officer. From 2012 until 2014, Doris Akol was the Commissioner for Legal Affairs and Board Matters at the Uganda Revenue Authority. In that capacity, she also served as the Company’s Legal Secretary. In October 2014, she was appointed Commissioner general at URA. She assumed her new office on 30 October 2014.
