Covid-19 Death Toll Rises To 97 As Uganda Registers 135 New Cases on Sunday.
Uganda’s Covid-19 death toll has risen to 97 following the one new death registered from Kapchorwa on Sunday.
Results of the 1,836 COVID-19 tests done on 17 October 2020 also confirmed 135 new cases. This brings the country’s cumulative confirmed coronavirus cases to 10,590.
According to ministry of health, 130 contacts and alerts tested positive among the 135 new coronavirus cases. These were from Kampala with 47, Mbarara with 15, Adjumani (8), Moyo (7), Pader (6), Gulu (5), Bugiri (3), Busia (3), Mbale (3), Sironko (3), Terego (3) and Masaka (3).
Butaleja, Koboko, Luwero, Mukono, Tororo, Yumbe, registered two cases each while Arua, Bududua, Buikwe, Bulambul,Jinja, Kapchorwa, Kibuku, Kyotera, Lira, Sheema, Iganga, had one case each.
Additionally, five truck drivers from Malaba border point of entry also tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the country’s cumulative coronavirus recoveries are 6,992.
Globally, over 40 million cases have been confirmed with at least 29,934,935 recoveries and 1,115,600 fatalities with the USA having the highest number of cases of 8,343,244.
