The National Unity Platform Party president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has commended Jailed MP-elect Muhammad Ssegirinya for responding to his call to protest peacefully.
Ssegirinya was today charged and remanded to Kitayla prison for inciting violence by Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate. This follows his arrest on Monday after he attempted to mobilize NUP supporters to demand for the immediate release of the members that are under unlawful detention.
“I am grateful to comrade Ssegirinya and all other comrades who have continued to protest against the gross violation of human rights, despite the cowardly response of regime enforcers,” Bobi Wine said
Robert Kyagulanyi also raised concerns over bail denial to most of his supporters who are arrested and charged in court.
“It is unfortunate that lately, most of our people are denied bail the first time of applying until they have all been taken to Kitalya,” Kyagulanyi said.
” I am however glad that these comrades understand that this is part of the price freedom fighters everywhere have to pay to attain true freedom for their people,” he added
